The formation of self-identity is a continuous learning process of aptitude. It contains parts that are random and parts that are constructed. Whether those parts are social, political or cultural constructs, I use my work to interpret random events to a universal understanding.
As an artist working with Monocular Vision Impairment, the loss of depth perception affects my ability to determine size, volume and physical distance.
My body orientation and distance perception in relation to other bodies and objects inform my work.
I am deeply invested in organizing space, movement and objects to explore the metaphors in the distance humans keep from each other.
This conception informs the symbolism on the body-object-space dialogue.
